So it's been awhile since I updated.
I'll try to do better.
The good news...we are still here!!

Kenny is still kicking along in Church History and New Testament...although he would probably not want me to brag, he brought home a 99 on his last test! I should put his test of the fridge. I'm so proud of him! The seminary's spring break is next week, although the only break Kenny gets is from class...still has to work! The joys of adulthood. It's not all work and no play though, because someone I know has played golf several times over the last couple of weeks!! Since the weather has warmed up, the guys have found it very tempting to go play golf. I think it's good for them to have a little male bonding time, so I hope they have fun. If only Kenny could go pro......

I have been taking a class at the Seminary, too! Did you think I was going to let Kenny do all the book learning?!? It's not a "real seminary" class, but a class that is offered through the Seminary Wives Institute. I have taken classes each semester that we have been up here, but have enjoyed the classes this semester on a much greater level. I took a mentoring class the first half of the semester and currently I am taking Fitness for Life. This class is unlike the other classes in that it is very hands-on. For class credit, I must do 30-45 minutes of cardio activity 3-4 times a week, do strength training 1-2 times a week, write down EVERYTHING that goes into to my mouth so my teacher can "analyze" my food choices, and drink at least 64 oz of water each day. It has been very beneficial and apparently I must consume chocolate in some form or fashion each day to continue living. At least that's what my food diary is showing. Although it's usually dark chocolate...which doctors say is GOOD for you!! One main benefit to me is that I have really been able to regain some of the lost strength from my last knee surgery. Dr. Nawab will be proud when I go back to see him next Monday. On a side knee note, I apparently have had some nerve damage from the repeated surgeries in the same place (go figure...you cut something open enough times, it's not going to be like new when you are done with it), so pray that what we are doing now will continue to help that pain go away.

We are coming up on the 1 year mark for the Spencer County Campus of our church. It has really been a joy to be part of this body of Christ and to be able to serve week in and week out surrounded by friends. We are averaging around 115 to 130 people and have seen several young families join in the last several months. That's what I want to see more of. Bring on the kids!! I'll try to post some pictures in the next several weeks of what it looks like when you change an elementary school into a church for several hours on a Sunday morning. It takes a lot of work and even more coordination, but there is a great group of servant-hearted people that show up 1 1/2 to 2 hours early each Sunday morning and stay after everyone else has gone home to eat lunch that make it happen. We have been blessed this past year to be a part of Highview Baptist Church: Spencer County Campus.

We have several trips planned for the summer. In May, we will be in Birmingham for Kenny to be in his college roommate's wedding. Yea for tuxes! Later in the month, I will return for my little sister's high school graduation...wouldn't miss it for the world! So proud of Kimberly Lauren!! In August, we head to the coast for several days in Hilton Head Island. I personally am ecstatic about this portion of the summer. Who wouldn't want to spend several days just laying on the beach? And there may be more adventures in the making...

Well, Kenny and I jumped into adulthood with both feet last week after mourning the death of the Jeep. After 175,000 faithful miles, the Jeep laid over and died late last Sunday night. This forced us back in the car payment game. So, we went and purchased our first car together (no, not new!). This was quite the experience and one I don't care to repeat often. (Thanks Mom & Dad for buying me a car when you could probably barely trust me to drive it!) Now, Kenny and I are fighting over who gets to drive the new wheels...One little smile and I usually win! (Don't tell him I said that...)
