Hap-Hap-Happy!!

Be happy, young man, while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you to judgment.

Ecclesiastes 11:9

Go Baseball!

kenny's roommate from college and his girlfriend came up to visit this weekend. we decided to go to a bats baseball game...fun on crutches!! ...hey, i don't let anything stop me!! and of course enjoyed a foot-long corn dog (with mustard), bottomless popcorn, and Graeter's ice cream afterwards...we are on a diet, can't you tell? we had a blast!!

Jason and Katey from Birmingham!!

Kenny and Jana and Jana's best friends...her crutches!

Louisville Slugger Field

Pray for us this next week...i still haven't been cleared to drive and kenny is having to take me to work, physical therapy, etc. in addition to his own job and classes. it makes for a long day for both of us. Pray that the doctor/physical therapist will release me to drive this week and that my leg/knee is strong enough to be able to drive!! the rehab is going well and i'm able to walk short distances without my crutches. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and prayers!!

i should be asleep...and so should you!!!

so it's late...kenny has been snoring away for several hours now...and i lay on the couch...wide awake!! i'm starting my new job tomorrow, so pray that all goes well (no, i'm not worried about starting the new job, i'm just uncomfortable with this silly brace on my leg!). i also went to the dr today and DIDN'T get released to drive as hoped...so kenny will be taking me/picking me up from work for at least 10 days, possibly longer. i have a wonderful husband...i mean, not just anyone would totally rearrange their day in order to shuttle someone else around! and he starts classes tomorrow...hebrew! that's scary!! pray for kenny as he starts classes, manages a full-time job, and manages me and my schedule!! he is wonderful and has such a servant heart!

my mom is better than your mom!!

so my mom just left...my dad came and took her away from us!! she has been a TREMENOUS help to both of us as i have worked through this whole knee rehab stuff...she even cleaned the whole house and did my laundry before she left!! how about that? she shuttled me all over louisville to my physical therapy appointments, kroger, sams, etc. she cooked me mcpam breakfast sandwiches and dinner ever night for kenny and me. she helped me wash my hair every morning. she put my socks on for me. she helped me get up to go to the bathroom at night. i could go on and on...but if you read this mom...THANKS, THANKS, THANKS!!!

now kenny has to deal with me!! hehe! he has already done a wonderful job of making sure that i have all that i need and that i am comfortable in all possible ways. he loves me!!

i have wonderful family and thank God for blessing me each day by surrounding me with people who love and care for me SO much!!

cpm's and emily

i am laying in the floor in front of the tv with kenny sitting above me on the couch and my leg attached to a device called a CPM that moves my leg back and forth...back and forth, bending it for an hour at a time...twice a day. ...but i was just thinking...

thinking about how much i missed my dear friend emily from andalusia!! i unknowingly left her out of the "missed friends" list from out trip home a couple of weeks ago...but i do miss her and i was SO sad that she wasn't in birmingham with the rest of us!! and kenny says he miss her too...and matthew too! (i hope that she reads this and lets me know!!) we love all our friends from alabama!! roll tide!

lortab makes jana sleepy...

hey guys!! it's been a while since i've posted anything, but that's because our computer was struck by lightening...you don't realize how much you use this thing called "internet" until you are without it!!

well, we have had a lot going on since the last post. jana accepted the job with First Steps! yea!! i start on aug 14 and i am so excited! we also found out that jana's ongoing knee saga required more surgery. i had acl reconstruction (again!!) yesterday. the timing of things were so perfect and we know that God's hand was in it all! if i had not been offered and accepted this other job, i would have had to go on short term disability because i couln't be in the classroom for approximately 12 weeks while i did rehab, etc. the new job will allow me to work even while on crutches/knee brace, etc. things are going pretty good...although now that the nerve block is wearing off and i am regaining feeling in my leg/foot and i am also gaining pain!! pain, pain!! just took 2 lortab, so i should be feeling loopy in a matter of minutes!! mom flew up wednesday to stay with us and help kenny take care of me and dad came up thursday afternoon to check on me, too! i'm glad we are getting to spend time with them, just would rather it be under different circumstances!

kenny starts classes back at the seminary on aug 14. we were planning on him taking a full load, but with my having surgery and the unexpected expenses we aren't sure what will happen. pray for us that we make wise decsions about school and our finances!

i'll add more later...the drugs are taking affect and the computer screen is hard to see...it appears to be spinning...my eyes are so heavy...
