So, the interview went well and she called me back this afternoon and I was offered the job!! I haven't formally accepted...Pray for us as Kenny and I pray through it this weekend, making sure that this is the right decision for us at this time! The position is an Initial Service Coordinator for First Steps, which is KY's early intervention system. Basically, this is where a child who has developmental delays or medical issues that will lead to delays are referred to get connected with the appropriate service providers...physical/occupational/speech therapist, nutritionists, psychiatrist/psychologists, developmental interventionists, etc. I would be making the initial home visits and setting the families up with assessments, service providers, etc. I am really excited about this! It will provide me with a lot more flexibility in my schedule and the ability to work from home (lovely!!). I'll let you know how it all turns out...
Well, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...we are off to Grant & Melisa's house for some pizza and a rousing round of "Bohnanza"...the new favorite game!!

Back to reality...
we had a great trip to birmingham this past weekend!! we got to see so many friends and family...i never feel like we have near enough time to see everyone we want to and i leave feeling like i have run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to make sure i see everyone...i am really looking forward to Christmas when we can spend more that 2 1/2 days in AL! it was good to hang out with my family until 3/5ths of them left for the youth mission trip in TN. we had fun teaching katie, jared (jarhead), cliff and heather to play bohnanza (the bean game!).
anyway, kenny went to daniel's wedding and i know he had a blast getting to spend time with daniel and i went to shay's wedding. i especially loved getting to see dara, kerri and jennifer!! (and shay of course, but she was preoccupied!) it's always good to hang out with the girls...and words can't explain how much i miss them all!! (sniff, sniff!)
we got to hang out with kenny's parents sunday morning...and surprise! denise, dale, shannon and eric, too! it was not near long enough, but good to see them all...and i know kenny was very excited to see shannon! we got back to louisville and just crashed last night...going to bed at 9:00!! it takes a lot out of you to travel!! back to work at 7am...

Jana has strep throat...
i've got strep and have been banished from work for at least 24 hours. the joys of working with children...there will be a flyer going around work when i return stating that a case of strep throat has been identified in the center...kinda makes you feel like you have done something wrong!! anyway, a friend of mine and kenny's from "the college years" came to louisville to visit this past weekend with his girlfriend.
it was great getting to see Wes since we haven't spent much time with him since we moved up here. saturday night we went down to the waterfront park and took a horse drawn carriage ride along the river. that was really neat and the weather was great...like 65-70 (don't expect that in july in alabama!!). kenny promised we could go back and do it again so i'm going to hold him to it!!
