Pretty Trees

unlike alabama, land of the pine tree, louisville is full of...trees that have leaves! call me crazy, say i have too much time on my hands (which i really don't), but i'm about to allow all who read this (which apparently numbers 1...and i'm adding posts by request of the 1) to experience the beauty of the coming of the fall colors! God is about to blow up this city with what i personally think is one of the most beutiful parts of creation...the leaves changing colors!! what you see below are a few sample of trees around our apartment complex that haven't started changing yet (yes, i just walked around the complex with me camera and took pictures...i'm a nerd.) i want to show yall the progression of the coming of the colors and will try to take pictures again in the same places as the weeks go by and the colors change...i'm excited just thinking about it!! God is so good and shows himself in so many ways. I'm loving that i can experience just one of the ways...

so keep an eye out and hopefully you will be blessed just a fraction of the amount we will by being able to see it in person!

now that "jana's nature segment" is out of the way, would you like an update on us? i'll assume yes...kenny is still plugging along in hebrew. loving it, but feeling pretty overwhelmed with it at the same time. pray for his WHOLE family...johnny just had back surgery yesterday and last time we talked with them, he was running a fever (just thinking its a sinus infection though). lisa's mom, honey, recently had heart surgery and went back into the hopspital last week and as far as i know is still there. and megan is scheduled to have a mri soon to determine what the lump on her leg is. and lisa just needs sanity and peace as all this goes on around her! we all know how the power of prayer can work and how God is the great physician and has a healing hand...please join me in lifting up the entire family! your prayers are appreciated by both of us...

i am really enjoying my new job and meeting all kinds of new and interesting people. and the flexibility that i have makes me giddy just thinking about it...as long as my work is being done and i'm getting in at least 40 hours a week (actual work or comp time), nobody really cares if i'm at the office, at home, etc. i love it! onto other southern issues...i'm unfortunately still wearing the monster knee brace. went the dr last week expecting to be moved to the smaller, functional brace and the dr decided to humor me and keep me in the big one until at least my oct 9 appointment. that will be 10 weeks in this brace in case you have lost count! i'm not really in too much pain any more, but physical therapy is going slow. i have NO muscle and my leg looks really puny!! i just forgot how long this takes to rehab. but we have been blessed that this acl surgery has gone much better than the last one!

things are going great at church...for those of you that don't know, we are helping with a church plant (of sorts...really just an additional campus to the church we are currently attending) in rural spencer county (next of our county) that is meeting in the elementary school. we are averaging about 100 on sunday mornings. we just started small groups on sunday night and as far as i know they all went well. i'm serving as our preschool coordinator and really enjoying it. we have over come many obstacles in the preschool department, some of which includes black widow spiders, really dirty classrooms, and packing 3 classrooms worth of furniture, toys and materials in 2 large crates to travel!! we are packing experts now! pray that God continues to grow this church and bring the many unchurched, young couples that live in the community to highview baptist church...and to Christ!!

sorry so long, but i love letting yall know how things are going up north...let me know if you are actually reading! leave us a comment!! we love yall and miss you even more!!

Just because we all don't leave comments, doesn't mean we are not reading! I check everyday just to see if you have added anything new about what is going on in L'ville. I can't wait to see the leaves changing colors on "your" trees - wish I was there to see it in person with you! We miss you both and love you bunches!!! (Can't wait 'til October 13th!!!) MOM
